My wife working on a bucket of hand-made chocolate covered strawberries. Each strawberry is hand decorated on a wooden skewer and then positioned like a bouquet into the bucket. The final product will have each skewer wrapped in green fabric to look more like a stem.
I like to think that the things you can do with food are endless and these definitely turned out well. Capturing this creativity in a photo is another thing.
I knew that this would look good with a light background which would bring out the chocolate strawberries as well as the bright green bucket. So I used a sheet of white poster board to create a seamless background so there will be no creases or lines in the background.
I used a Canon 580EXII flash with a white shoot-through umbrella positioned high and camera right. To camera left and a bit lower I used a Canon 430EXII with a Lumiquest Softbox III to provide some fill light for that side. Without this flash in place the shadows on the left side would have been distracting. Both flashes were triggered with Cactus v4 wireless triggers.
