Monday Photo Inspiration – A Crack In The Sky

by matt on June 11, 2012

Every Monday I post a photo that is meant to inspire you, motivate you, cause you to pause and ponder, remind you of your dreams and hopefully entice you to act on whatever your goals may be. This Monday, June 11th I bring you a sunset I shot at Fern Ridge Lake just outside of Eugene Oregon.

Fern Ridge Lake at the end of Royal Avenue

Canon 5D Mark II | ISO 50 | f/18 | 17mm

This is an HDR shot comprise of 3 bracketed exposures and combined in Photomatix Pro.  I used HDR for this shot because the camera was just not able to capture the dynamic range of the scene like our eyes can (yes, our eyes are much better than a $3000 camera, much better.)

In situations where our eye is adjusting for varying light (pupil is opening and closing) our eyes can see over a range of 24 f-stops.  Now that’s pretty cool!

Inspirational Monday Quote

“In any situation, the best thing you can do is the right thing; the next best thing you can do is the wrong thing; the worst thing you can do is nothing.” – Theodore Roosevelt

Have a great Monday and get busy doing something!
