On days when it’s not raining and the temperatures are not subarctic I like to spend my lunch hour taking a walk. Thankfully my office is next to a bike path that follows along the Willamette River. It’s a great time to unwind from the first half of the day and think about various things. I’ve passed by this mural and door many times along my walk. The bright colors and patterns always catch the corner of my eye and I can’t help but turn toward it.
Today was no exception and I decided to pause and take this photo. I couldn’t help but think of the many doors that I have either opened or had opened for me as well as the doors that have been closed or never opened. Each door we encounter in life is a new opportunity, a new beginning.
Sometimes we go through doors, experience what is on the other side and then try and go back through only to find that we end up somewhere new and not where we expected. But we should never be afraid to not open a door and go through it for that is how we create new adventures and experience life.
I wonder what is on the other side of the vortex?
