OK, so I am finally caught up with my Project 365 (if you are not familiar with this check out the original post here). We spent the past week in San Francisco where the weather was just fantastic with temperatures in the upper 60’s and plenty of sunshine. We returned to Oregon to find pouring rain and wind and cool temperatures.
But I suppose the rain is good for keeping Oregon green. Spring showers bring flowers, or is it April showers bring May flowers? I braved the rain to harvest one of the last remaining blooming daffodils from our yard.
For this photo I used a Canon 5DII and a single Canon 580EXII with a Lumiquest Softbox III. For the background I used the black side of a 5-1 reflector. I used a tripod for the camera and a remote trigger as well as Cactus v4’s to remotely trigger the flash. I then moved the flash all around the flower to try out different light directions and intensities.
