Here we are at Day 47. This week I have really struggled to come up with something to shoot. I haven’t really been satisfied with my subject matter.
Tomorrow is my birthday and my wife surprised me with this chocolate cake. I figured it made an appropriate subject but after a long day of work I honestly wasn’t really into it so I didn’t put too much thought into it.
I shot this with a Canon 5DII, a Canon 580EXII with a Lumiquest Softbox held in front and above the cake.

The cake is a chocolate cake with white chocolate decorations and topped with a tier of chocolate dipped strawberries. All made and created by my wife. It looks delicious and I can’t wait to eat it tomorrow. Is it wrong to have cake for breakfast?

Thanks Gail! It was a mocha chiffon cake with bailey chocolate ganache filling and covered with chocolate ganache. Yum!!
