Who doesn’t like Thanksgiving? It’s a time to get together with family and remember the things in life that are important. The things we should be thankful for all throughout the year. Things like friends and family, giving and serving people in need, making a difference in the world. While I am gorging myself on turkey, stuffing and fantastic desserts it’s not lost on me that while I am able to enjoy a giant meal there are so many people throughout the world that don’t have that luxury. In fact there are many people in the world that don’t have anything to eat or clean water to drink. Did you know there are almost a billion people in the world that don’t have access to clean drinking water?
This year I decided to do something to give back, to try and make a small difference. I donated to Charity:Water, a non-profit organization bringing clean water to developing nations. I first learned of this organization via Chris Guillebeau of The Art of Non-Conformity who dedicates 10% of his sales of AONC products to this organization. I think this issue is really important because more than anything clean water saves lives. OK, so there is my pitch for Charity:Water. Now onto the food photos. I’ve included a few of our Thanksgiving feast and more can be seen on my Flickr stream. Let’s be thankful for the good things we have and generous to those in need.
