Still doing some catching up with Project 365. This photo was from December 16th.
It’s a special day! First, it’s Day 300 of Project 365 which means only 65 more days to go before we wrap this whole photo study up. As fun as it’s been I’m looking forward to the end and I can finally see a light at the end of this long tunnel.
On December 16th we made a trip to Portland to attend Chris Guillebeau’s Unconventional Book Tour which promotes his book “The Art of Non-Conformity”, a book about living your life on your own terms, setting your own rules and making a difference in the world. The event was at Powell’s Books but before the event we sat down for dinner with Sean Ogle of Location 180 and his incredible girlfriend Tate. After dinner we walked over to Powell’s where there were already a few hundred people gathered to hear Chris speak.
On Chris’s website he had said it would be fun if people brought cupcakes. Well, my wife decided to go one better and made a cake that looked identical to the book. We set the cake out up front so everyone could take a look at it. I snapped a few photos of Chris, my wife and the cake.
Chris gave a great talk on the book, the book tour, living an unconventional life and then we all got some cake and Chris signed books. It was a definite pleasure to finally meet Chris in person and the whole event was great. Not only did I get to meet Chris and have dinner with Sean but I also met Tyler Tervooren of Advanced Riskology and Tammy Strobel and Logan Smith of Rowdy Kittens. Such a fun night.
